Snapchat vs. KIK Messenger vs. WhatsApp Full Comparison : Messaging applications have indeed been much evolving in the past couple of years. Many came and many stayed, however, there are some of the applications that have managed to invade the market and have been ever since competing against each other in the race of being the best. There are applications which let you text, exchange videos and images and some as well allow voice calling. Here is a close comparison between WhatsApp Messenger, Kik for PC messenger and the classic Snapchat!
Let us see who wins the race of fighting to be the best !
The app was launched in 2009 and has ever since been a revolution in the history of instant messaging. The application works across almost all the platforms including iOS, Android, Blackberry, Nokia S40, Symbian and now also has a web version to itself which works on all major browsers. Along with this, the app also supports voice calling which has been rolling out to almost all the versions available. The applications is available for free during the first year of use after which you will charged 0.99 dollars annually.
NOTE: In recent past, whatsapp has declared that it won’t be charging even a single penny. And hence, it’s now free for lifetime
Kik Messenger :
The application came into being in 2010, but a stable and better equipped version of the app came only in October 2011. It started off by a couple of university students from university of Waterloo. It was in February 2015 that the application had reached a total of 200 million users registered under the same. It works on Android, iOS as well as Windows phone and needs only an email ID to allow the registration. A major feature of the application is that it comes with its own browser and it can not only send messages, but do a lot more than that!
The app was released in 2011 and this again was created by three students from the Stanford University. The app is available only on iOS and Android and has a self destructive timer built into its system. You can send pictures as well as videos which can be viewed for a period ranging from 1 to 10 seconds after which they will destroy themselves.
Having spoken about the application, Whatsapp is an app with some additional features but charges after a year; Kik on the other hand has its own browser but isn’t very much in use; Snapchat is an application which has features unique to itself!
If uniqueness is concerned, Snapchat wins; while if we consider the basic features and user interface, WhatsApp is a great application!
